The Death of Silence
Slowly did silence die
Bleeding minute by minute out of our lives
It’s ghost haunts our ears
And our minds have been twisted and taught they should fear
As if it ever meant us harm
We can’t bear the silence,
So, we bury it deeper
Under the violent
Swiping
Texting
Grim Reaper
And when that day comes
When all the horns strip away all the noise and decay
We’ll be silent at last
With no future or past
And realize the present is the gift we threw back
